The Company:

An exciting opportunity for a Merchandiser to join an established home textiles company. You will support the merchandising team helping to maximise commercial opportunities through the effective management of inventory, driving sales through improved availability and forecasting, reducing mark down and maximising profit. The company offer 30 days holiday, annual reviews and onsite parking. The working hours are Monday to Thursday 8:30 - 5:30, with a 3 pm finish on a Friday. The ideal candidate will have 1 - 2 years experience in a similar role and be passionate about homeware.

The Role:

  • Forecasting seasonal product mix based on finance targets and new business initiatives.
  • Work within cash flow forecasts and manage all stock levels accordingly.
  • Accurate forecasting of stock based on business trend analysis and research.
  • Monitoring of sales, make amendments to forecast estimates as and when required.
  • Agree estimates for new launches of products with customers.
  • Attend regular launch meetings to ensure that all items are received in time.
  • Place orders in a timely manner to ensure that customer delivery requirements are met.
  • Orders to be placed by either sea or air freight depending on delivery time scales.
  • Liaise with the quality department about product development, quality issues and faulty stock.
  • Weekly monitoring of any filled products where required.
  • Regular communication with the mills to clarify priority products for shipment.
  • Ensure that deliveries arrive at the specified time, being aware of any delays / stock issues.
  • Liaise with customer as and when required.
  • Keep up to date with all reports requiring completion including stock reports, comments report, at risk report, fabric reports, new range forms, valuation report, turnover report and planning sheets.
  • Other duties as required.

Skills Required:

  • MUST have 1 - 2 years experience in a similar role.
  • MUST have strong planning, analytical and Excel skills.
  • Good judgement and decision making skills.
  • Strong customer awareness and understanding.
  • Discreet, professional and well spoken, with excellent communication skills.
  • Exceptionally organised, methodical and efficient.
  • Time keeping and ability to meet deadlines.
