The most exciting digital revolution in HSBC's history is happening right now. The global digital solutions we are creating will influence the banking behaviour of over 37 million customers worldwide. Such an exciting journey comes with a truly unique career opportunity: working alongside a growing team of experts from world-leading technology companies to embed digital into the heart of the bank.

Our Digital teams are an integrated global group of over 3500 technologists and commercial thinkers, working across our offices in London, India, China, Hong Kong, the US, Canada, Poland and Mexico.

Our work includes developing new mobile apps and online experiences; using digital messaging to build the relationship with our customers; building and improving the underlying technology and security platforms; and innovating our propositions to take advantage of new innovation.

As an HSBC employee in the UK, you will have access to tailored professional development opportunities and a competitive pay and benefits package. This includes private healthcare for all UK-based employees, enhanced maternity and adoption pay and support when you return to work, and a contributory pension scheme with a generous employer contribution.

We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role Senior Digital Designer UX.

In this role, you will:
  • Follow User-Centred Design methods, industry best practices and trends, as well as HSBC UI/UX component, and pattern libraries in creating accessible user journeys and products for the bank's customers
  • Deliver (mainly, but not limited to) mood boards, sketches, mock-ups, interactive prototypes, user testing materials, interaction definitions, and high fidelity screen designs following brand guidelines
  • Lead and perform stakeholder engagement and presentations on a regular basis
  • Build strong relationships, adopting a joined up approach to execute change at pace with minimum conflict (only applies to level 5)
  • Have line management accountability for a team, in which case a proportion of their time (circa 20-30%) will be people focused rather than task focused
  • Ensure a high bar for all the design work produced by the design team and perform regular design reviews of the work produced across the team, give design direction and feedback to improve the design layouts, visual hierarchy, and to finish the products overall

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
  • Strong understanding of Digital business, while experience with finance, travel, lifestyle, and/or other consumer product development is a strong advantage
  • Strong experience in User-centred Design methodology and its practical implementation
  • Skilled in the use of various software tools, such as Sketch, In Vision, Adobe CC etc.
  • Demonstrate working experience in a design leadership role
