The directorate has a range of specialist services located across many of the hospital sites within NHSGGC. The directorate is comprised of five clinical sub directorate areas encompassing West of Scotland (Regional) and Scotland (National) services. NHSGGC operates a new process for “all Band 5 Nursing Posts" and interviews are being held over 2 days. .

In order for you to choose your preference of Hospital/Specialties there are 6 adverts for Clyde, North, South, Regional and Women & Children, we require one application submission with a view to one interview. It is important that your read the candidate information pack in each Job Pack as this contains a list of Current Vacancies, Job Descriptions and hiring managers contact details for post/s. .

If you are shortlisted for interview you will sent an email to attend for interview. At the interview you will be asked for your 1st, 2nd and 3rd preference of Hospital/Specialties. If appointable at interview your application will be job matched into a vacancy, if your 1st choice is not available your application will be put on an On Hold List and will be forwarded to a Cohort of Lead Nurses, if posts become available in their area recruitment will contact you.

If you are a newly Qualified Nurse (NQN) there is dedicated support and facilitate completion of induction objectives and providing support appropriate to the NQN individual learning needs. This is in addition to the support of the ward preceptors. Practice Educator Facilitators also support with Flying Start and other learning opportunities.

All Registered Nursing staff appointed within Regional Services will have a bespoke local induction package within a portfolio format. There will be support through Mandatory training and ongoing professional development opportunities. There is also an active Band 6 Leadership Development Programme which has supported ongoing development and promotion.

We have recognised and established links with local partner Universities who can offer academic advancement to support your ongoing career within a specialist nursing post.

You will be well supported by Lead Nurses, Practice Development Nurses and local management teams.
