A brand new permanent vacancy for an L&D Officer, based in Bury

Your new company
A newly created role with a successful, growing, values driven company who have pride in their commitment to continuous improvement and service delivery. The headcount is currently just over 110, but with further growth plans in place. The L&D Officer will support the Head of People, Culture & Values in creating and delivering the overall L&D strategy, acting as the ambassador for all L&D activities. This is an exciting and varied role in which you will proactively identify staff development needs, and design, create and deliver solutions, setting clear points of evaluation and demonstrating the degree of success achieved for all L&D interventions undertaken.

Your new role
You will ensure that all L&D activity has clear business focused aims and objectives, whilst being creative and engaging to aid the development of participants. You'll also have responsibility for developing a company Academy, and will promote L&D across the business to create a culture of learning, compulsion, collaboration and progression. Whilst you will be involved in some design and delivery - mainly on soft skills and development - this will form around 30% of the role, you will also have ownership of building a network of external L&D providers, creating a PSL, negotiating costs and working with the providers to develop programmes that support development of staff.

Other responsibilities will include the creation of an annual training plan; overseeing the apprentice programme; creating and developing a graduate scheme; coordinating an internal mentoring network; and management of the professional development programme, facilitating the company sponsorship of professional qualifications. You will also need to maintain accurate logs and training records and produce reports on a regular basis.

What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for the role you will be degree educated, possess a minimum of Level 5 CIPD (or relevant equivalent training qualification) and have previous experience in a very similar fast paced L&D role at Officer level. You will need previous experience in the creation, delivery and evaluation of innovative L&D solutions; excellent presentation skills and a proven track record in the delivery of training and presentations to a senior level. You will have a good level of commercial awareness and understanding of the impact of L&D on the business, and have a proactive and committed attitude with an excellent work ethic. You will ideally have worked in a professional services environment, and you will demonstrate credibility and professionalism in your work.

What you'll get in return
In return you will be offered a salary circa £26,000 - £28,000, with BUPA, pension, 25 days holiday and a holiday buy and sell scheme. The hours of work are Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm.
