User Experience Consultant - 6 month contract - Edinburgh - £350 £450 per day

Essential Skills

  • Experience of user research and analysis, both qualitative and quantitative, to establish baselines and monitor on-going trends or improvements
  • Demonstrates expertise designing interactions professionally for internal users, i.e. back-office operations Core skills: sketching, design production, rapid prototyping
  • Experience of working with user experience practices, such as UX labs, mobile UX testing and preparing design guidelines
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards
  • Experience of user experience within large scale digital delivery programme with proven results that are traceable to user experience interventions
  • Experience working within an agile, multi-disciplinary team environment, using lean UX techniques, and ability to deliver iterative design components (including user journeys) to the development team
  • Effectively capture, utilise and share customer insight and views from a diverse range of stakeholders to ensure better policy and delivery
  • Confidently engage with stakeholders and colleagues at all levels to generate commitment to goals
  • Exemplify positive customer service behaviours and promote a culture focused on ensuring customer needs are met

Desirable Skills

  • Experience of working with a team of UX professionals
  • Experience of simplifying high volume, complex process flows
  • Experience of high fidelity user interface design
  • Experience of mapping tools
  • Creation of design standards and practices
  • Experience of coding HTML, CSS, SASS.
  • Actively build and maintain a network of industry specialists, policy leaders to further collaboration opportunities and progress shared interests
