A leading Financial Services organisation headquartered in Manchester are looking for an experienced .Net Developer to join them permanently. Overall purpose
  • Development of software solutions to defined requirements using a service oriented architecture (SOA).
  • Work on development tasks as driven by strategic change an internal team change.
  • Provide .Net development expertise and support junior .Net developers
  • Work with Database Developers to ensure consistent use of all aspects of database development using efficient TSQL
  • Ensure delivery of standardised, re-usable object code within.NET framework
  • Optimise development based on Microsoft patterns and component re-use
  • Ensure conformity and consistency of application component development and consistency of look and feel across the sites and applications
Expertise
  • Experienced developing using the .NET Framework.
  • Substantial experience as a .NET developer
  • Expert knowledge of full stack development (.Net Framework 4.5, SQL, web API, WCF, MVC, Bootstrap, JQuery, Entity Framework, HTML 5, CSS and XML)
  • Experience of automated unit testing.
  • Solid RDBMS development skills using SQL Server (2008R2 onwards).
  • Experience of working to different development methodologies i.e. Agile/Waterfall and solid understanding of the complete software development lifecycle.
  • Thorough understanding of Component Based Development and Services Orientated Architecture.
  • Knowledge of good security practice and analysing security scans and penetration reports
  • Problem solving and investigative skills
Complexity
  • Complexity level is high as the nature of the role requires solutions to problems previously not faced.
  • Thorough analysis of existing systems will be required to form solution design.
  • The problems encountered will be from routine through to complex matters and will therefore require a combination of ways to deal with them, some will be simple whereas others will require analysis, experience and knowledge applied.
  • Challenges will be faced due to the complexity and interdependence of existing systems which may not have sufficient documentation.
Impact
  • Decisions and developments worked on can have wide ranging impacts as the role will be working on a variety of systems that underpin the day to day operation of the business.
  • Due to the high level of interdependence within the IT systems the impact of change can be experienced in multiple areas.
  • The role contributes directly to organisational objectives as the business has a strong growing reliance on IT systems. This role will develop against those systems to help drive the business forward.
  • Coding Standards and practises must be adhered to.
  • Expectation to design own solutions.
  • Will be working on both long and short term pieces of work.
Influence
  • Interacts with other database developers.
  • Interacts with Team manager and Tech leads.
  • Interacts with other .Net developers based remotely.
  • Required to exchange information and building rapport with various business departments to understand changes requested.
  • Will be required to interact with various business departments as dictated by development tasks assigned. These will be either due to changes requested by that business area or through support tickets generated by that business area. Role will be required to have no interaction with other departments outside the scope of development work requested by the business.
  • Will be required to provide development progress updates for project pieces to the Team Manager.
  • Will be required to provide updates on support requests assigned through the Support ticket system.
