Hitachi Consulting is currently investing in its Technology Solutions Practice, which is growing rapidly in the UK and Europe. As part of this, we are seeking to recruit an experienced or emerging Azure Architect to join our Digital Transformation practice, based in the UK. This will be at Manager or Senior Manager Level.
The team designs and implements Enterprise Azure solutions that utilise a number of the Azure IaaS/ PaaS and Data Services. There is a major emphasis of the integration of non-Microsoft technologies and solutions to Azure IaaS.
Our client base is predominately FTSE 100-250, Blue Chip and Enterprise environment clients. The Architect will need to understand the current technology landscape, design a future state based on Azure, and create a cloud strategy and migration/modernisation roadmap. The role is varied one featuring requirement gathering, design and delivery of complex Azure based datacentres.
The team is focused on collaboratively working, sharing ideas within an extremely talented team that are driven to learn and keep abreast with the range of leading edge cloud services that are being frequently released.
The applicant will benefit from receiving day-to-day coaching and support from a hands-on ex-MVP who fosters and encourages technical debate within this high performing team. The Architect will be passionate regards to delivering projects to a very high standard including documentation and handover workshops to clients.
Key focus will reside on delivery management, providing liaison, on-going communication, managing client expectations and dealing with client issues. The Architect will enjoy supporting business development and pre-sales activities including demo, PoC and writing proposals.
Given our reputation as a leading tier-one MSGP, we encourage and support the certification of the team members to Microsoft Certified Professional premium level certification such as Implementing Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Solutions and Architecting Microsoft Azure Solutions etc.
The Architect will be designing, implementing solutions which utilise; Azure Active Directory, Azure Active Directory B2C, Azure Active Directory Domain Services, Azure DNS and Federation Services (ADFS). The role features a major focus on virtualisation services; the applicant should have experience around Azure Virtual Machines, Virtual Machine Scale Sets and Virtual Network.
The applicant will have exposure to some of the more traditional virtualisation technologies (Hyper-V, Virtual Server/PC) and / or VMware.
The Architect will be involved in the design of solutions, which also utilise a number of the following Azure and associated technologies:
Azure Automation Batch and Scheduler
Azure Backup and Site Recovery
Azure Cloud Services
ExpressRoute, VPN Gateways, Azure Load Balancer and Traffic Manager
Working knowledge of scripting and automation technologies, such as PowerShell, PDT, and DSC
Ability to recommend and configure Azure subscription
- Good working knowledge and experience of firewall technologies
Training and support can be provided if there are some small gaps within the applicant’s knowledge and experience around the above.
