Mechanical Maintenance Engineer – 6 Month Contract - £21-£23p/h Ltd Co Monday to Friday – Afternoon Shifts – 13:30-22:30 – Based Hampshire – Immediate start Maintenance of a Process Plant – Conveyors / Ovens / Grinders / Extruders / Weighers / Pipework Bearings / Gearboxes / Shafts / Drives / Rollers / Belts / Fabrication & Welding This family owned and run business have been established for over ninety years and have diversified in that time to meet customer demand and have prospered in challenging economic conditions. One of their revenue streams in now in the manufacture of ingredients used in a variety of industries from food, farming, FMCG manufacturing and the pharmaceutical industries. They have been growing 10% year on year for the last five years and tatt trend looks set to continue. As a result we are looking to add to the maintenance team, initially on contract, but potentially on a temp to perm basis as well. What the role will involve: * Fault find to module level initially – this could be a bearing or gearbox. * Take the module back to the workshop and strip down to component level, repair and overhaul it and then put it back in to stores. * Mainly reactive maintenance, but some proactive maintenance. * Some on the plant is over thirty years old so you will be making replacement parts – this could be pins, guards, shafts etc. * Basic fabrication and welding of guards, enclosures etc. Typically 2-5mm stainless and mile steel with MIG and TIG welding. * Welding on the plant – repairing the plant or attaching components you have manufactured etc. * Pro-active – mainly reactive maintenance, but there is some PPM’s that need doing as well. * Working within the current maintenance team. * Working on some projects – replacing and upgrading equipment, suggesting potential improvements etc. What the company are looking for in the contractor: * Mechanical maintenance experience. * Experience in a manufacturing environment – this could be any industry. * Fabrication and welding experience would be a distinct advantage. * Time served, apprenticed trained background. * Hands on, proactive! * Mechanically biased – 70-80% of the role will be mechanical maintenance.
