Vehicle Development Engineer

Norfolk

A new opportunity has arisen for a Vehicle Development Engineer with our Global Automotive client located in Norfolk. You will join the growing team delivering OEM, motorsport and niche vehicle projects

Our Automotive client provides engineering and product development services to race teams and OEM’s around the world. Their Norfolk base is home to the ongoing design, development and implementation of suspension technologies, and has established strong relationships with key international automotive organizations.

As a vehicle development engineer you will be involved in the development and optimisation of suspension systems for customer vehicles, as well as in-house projects, utilising chassis development rig and proprietary software.

You will be involved in the optimisation of grip for race car suspension from Formula 1 and LMP1 through Formula E to many other categories and you will be involved in the optimisation of road car suspension for performance, comfort and grip.

You will also be involved in the development and optimisation of suspension products, including dampers, springs, etc. using the same techniques. Knowledge of suspension design would therefore be a distinct advantage as would an understanding of hydraulic systems.

This is a customer facing position; you can expect to be independently working directly with customers most days. Presentation skills and confident speaking are therefore essential and the successful candidate will be comfortable in this high pressure environment.

Education and Experience:
- 10 years’ experience in a similar or related position within the automotive industry
- Engineering degree or equivalent
- Background experience in suspension design or similar experience.

All applicants must be legally eligible to work in the United Kingdom, (EU), hold a valid driver’s license, valid passport and be prepared to travel internationally when required.
