Desktop Support Analyst - Edinburgh
Desktop Support Analyst required to join a well known client based in Edinburgh. This is a second line ICT role, and the successful candidate will be required to provide software and hardware support to all client PC and laptop users This role offers a competitive salary, with excellent additional benefits.
Key responsibilities:§ 2nd line support all PC equipment, laptops and Apple Macs for staff with computer related issues on a day to day basis.§ Build solid working relationships with colleagues and customers.§ Manage your own incident queue and prioritise workload.§ Work well within a team environment and be able to work to a high standard under your own supervision§ Contribute to continued improvement and progression of the team through cross training and knowledge sharing§ Prepare documentation and share with your colleagues through the Team Room facility.§ Ensure that practices and processes exist and, where possible, they are standardised and repeatable.§ Assist the Problem Analyst by highlighting recurring events/incidents
Experience and skills required:Essential:Windows desktop OS XP upwardsOffice2010 upwards, including Office365Knowledge of imaging technologies (e.g. Clonezilla)Troubleshooting at desktop levelBackup tape administration (essentially physical tape management)Cabling basics (Cat6)Wifi knowledgeBasic PC hardware (specification and break/fix)Knowledge of Active DirectoryAsset management (e.g. hardware audit)PC/workstation installation (set up of PC hardware e.eg. for new users)PC/hardware spec'ing up and orderingPrinters - installation/configurationBonus:Mac/Linux knowledgeOffice365 scriptingActive Directory administrationPowershellIIS
