Meraki Talent are currently recruiting for an experience Financial Reporting Analyst - Asset Management on behalf of one of Scotland?s premier employers. This role is a much more commercial than your typical Financial Reporting role within asset management. It?s a small team and the role will involve reporting up to board level and keeping up to date with oversee regulations. It?s a very flat structure in this organisation and more senior candidates may also be considered. As this is a new role, there is a real chance to go in a make the role your own, as there is lots of ongoing change within the department.

The role holder will provide oversight and assurance on the timeliness, quality and accuracy of key regulatory and operational reporting obligations. Working closely with the Funds? Treasurer, a key function of this role is the continued analysis of workflow and recommendation for process improvements. Flexibility in working hours may be required to support the requirements of the US and Canadian operations. Ideally you will have US Mutual Fund knowledge but if you have reported around UK Mutual funds that would also be considered. Some of the duties may include:

  • Review semi-annual and year-end financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and IFRS, including analytical review, research and resolution of discrepancies, liaising with Auditors and Third Party Administrators as required
  • Collate, interpret and review operational/financial information in relation to Fund documentation updates
  • Assist with preparation, review and submission of regulatory filings ensuring full compliance with SEC, IRS, FINRA and OSC guidelines
  • Assist with preparation of board materials and internal MI reports
  • Review distribution calculations in accordance with the relevant regulatory requirements
  • Perform reviews of financial information including budgets, accruals, expense caps and TERs
  • Provide assistance and cover within the Department as required

The background of the experience Financial Reporting Analyst - Asset Management:

  • Knowledge of relevant accounting standards and regulations
  • Full or part qualified CA / ACCA would be preferred.
  • Strong background in at least one of Funds Operations, Regulatory Oversight or Fund Accounting
  • Knowledge of relevant accounting standards and regulations including US/UK GAAP and IFRS
  • US or UK Mutual fund experience
