Head Of SEO Opportunity

An opportunity for a key influencer and decision maker to make all the difference to an award-winning agency. You should have a clear vision for the future of SEO and be willing and able to play a major part in ensuring and maintaining this agency’s already good reputation in this field.

Qualification & Skills Requirements

The following are considered essential skills and experience for the successful candidate:

  • At least 3 years’ agency side experience in SEO and at least 5 years’ overall SEO experience.
  • High-level consultancy experience, working with complex businesses with difficult requirements and presenting to C-level stakeholders. Apart from flawless knowledge, this sort of experience requires taking the time to listen and understand problems, constructively challenging and debating assumptions and established practices, thinking laterally around problems, being a confident and clear communicator and able to quickly build good working relationships with people. These are all skills you will need internally as well!
  • A good understanding of web technologies especially HTML, CSS, JavaScript; ideally server side and emerging technologies too.
  • Demonstrable management & mentoring experience of a large team (4+ direct reports and indirect reports as well).
  • Experience of and interest in complementary disciplines to SEO such as PR, Usability, CRO, Analytics, Web Design, Data Visualisation and Content Marketing.
  • Able to work independently at a high standard.
  • Strong project management skills and attention to detail.
  • Impeccable written and spoken English.
  • Energy and enthusiasm for promoting all things SEO.
  • Keen and able to make the role your own, having a vision, defining and refining processes, and adjusting these within the current agency structure.
  • Complete ownership and being in control - what’s happening, when, where and what the impact is.
  • Curiosity - asking questions and finding opportunities, generating ideas and encouraging others to think differently.
  • Great communication skills - engaging, articulate, passionate and tells a great story.
  • Creativity.
  • Influencing and changing perceptions of colleagues and clients.
  • Sharing your knowledge about your expertise, as well as soaking up opportunities for you to learn new skills.
