Software Support Engineer (EU Support)

With a background as a Software Engineer, in the EU Support team you will be responsible for providing high-quality technical support for Equifax Production services across a number of geographies and market verticals, and spanning a wide range of technologies. Every day will be different.

You will be happy to take ownership of technical issues, and work with our Delivery Team to resolve more advanced issues when necessary.

In a fast-paced environment, you are capable of handling escalated customer complaints without the need for team lead intervention. You will document troubleshooting and problem resolution steps.

You will support frequent deployments and releases from Delivery teams that are following agile and Continuous Delivery practices.

As a Software Support Engineer you will also identify, develop and implement Service and Operational Improvements. You must have a drive for continuous delivery, automation and the removal of manual activities throughout the entire.

The Software Support Engineer will be required to be on-call on a rotating basis throughout the year which will involve some out of hours work.

Key responsibilities of the Software Support Engineer include:
First line support for Incident for internal and external solutions, covering the full technology stack.Change / release support.Investigation of problems, including design, code, test and implementation of fixes.Ensuring solutions are monitored and have appropriate alerting.Automation of common, repeatable, manual tasks.Research and presentation of ideas for system improvements and contributing to continuous operational/service/lean improvement plans.

Experience Requirements
Experience as a Software Engineer working on major programmes across a complex IT environment.Experience working on data integration, data ingestion and high-volume transaction solutionsExperience using the following technologies to develop business critical applications and solutions:

- Java

- Linux command line, shell & scripting languages

- Microservices, REST and Web Services (JSON, XML)

- Tomcat / TomEE / WebSphere

- Oracle
Exposure to any of the following technologies is a bonus:

- C# .NET

- SQL Server, MySQL, or similar RDBMS

- RIAK, MongoDB, or similar NoSQL

- Pentaho, DataStage, ETL tools

- Go CD

- Chef

- Nagios, Apica, PagerDuty, App Dynamics, Splunk

- Atlassian stack (JIRA, Confluence, Hipchat, Bitbucket)
Experience of working in an Agile software environment and applying best practices and different techniques across the software development lifecycle.Automated testing experience using a suite of tools for various test classifications; e.g. unit testing, performance, security, acceptance testing.
