Non for profit organisation based in London are looking to recruit a Privacy contractor within their information security and privacy function. This role is to work alongside the current Data Protection Officer offering support to the business

Reporting into the head of Data protection you will be required to advise on all Data Protection related matters within the business and the development of a privacy strategy. You will be the point of contact for all privacy related queries and will assist the business and stakeholders with all Privacy/Data Protection queries. You will support the team in identifying privacy and security risks and requirements to new IT projects and business change/initiatives and communicating those to senior stakeholders. Working with the Head of Information Security in regards to GDPR and data protection issues ensuring privacy principles and good behaviours are adhered to at all times. Supporting colleagues with security breaches and performing Privacy Impact Assessments (PIA).

In regards to GDPR you will lead and support the GDPR programme which will include the following:
  • Engaging relevant stakeholders in regards the importance of GDPR
  • Supporting and contributing to any information and systems audits, and any data mapping exercises.
  • Drafting policies and procedures.
  • Rolling out the supplier assurance program, including undertaking supplier assessments and coordinating data processor contracts.
  • Developing a privacy audit capability and conducting regular reviews
  • Delivering a programme of education and awareness around GDPR.
  • Managing various GDPR projects.

The ideal Privacy/Data Protection candidate will possess the following:
  • Experience in a data protection capacity.
  • Knowledge of and experience in the principles and requirements of the DPA 1998 and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
  • Experience of Subject Access Requests (SARs), Privacy Notices, Consent, Information Sharing and Data Processors.
  • Experience in advising on privacy and security risks
  • Experience in proactively engaging stakeholders to facilitate buy-in and decision making.
  • Experience in project management
  • This role will suit an advisor who is looking to work in a busy privacy team
