Our client, a city based Private Bank are actively seeking an experienced Payments Specialist to provide critical cash management and payments services support across the departments day to day transactional activities.

The successful candidate will be responsible for processing and ensuring all payments requests received from Private Bank UK clients and other business units are completed effectively.

Actively manage the UK Banking product suite in line with current strategic objectives, through the provision of distinctive client service.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Effective processing of money movements within the Group, to third parties and counter-parties using the following payment methods and applications Chaps; International Payments; Faster Payments; Direct Debits; Standing orders; Inwards Funds; BACS; SWIFT
  • Investigation and allocation of funds received
  • Review and maintain various reconciliation?s
  • Liaise with other banks and various company business units
  • Clearing defaults and cheque technicalities
  • Foreign cheque negotiations and collections
  • Client stationary dispatch
  • Receive client post and scan into the appropriate workflows
  • Order stationary and marketing material
  • Prepare the various welcome packs for despatch to clients
  • Full and Partial current account switching
  • Prepare payment files for release
  • Ownership of extra responsibilities delegated

Accountabilities

  • Endeavour to meet expected service KPIs and process driven turnaround times
  • Ensuring controlled and timely execution of payments
  • Prioritisation of work types
  • To ensure that all business is conducted in accordance with the rules, guidelines and expectations of the FCA
  • To ensure Payment work flows are cleared in a timely manner
  • Effectively manage and build relationships with clients and other stakeholders
  • Provide existing and potential clients with distinctive service through each interaction
  • To act with integrity at all times and embrace philosophy of treating customers fairly

Core Skills and Attributes:

  • Regulatory knowledge as applicable to role (compulsory)

  • Where applicable, knowledge of the Private Bank business unit?s activities
  • Competence of the appropriate systems
  • BCOM or other relevant business-related degree, essential.
  • Min 1-2 years financial or banking industry experience, preferred
  • Sound working knowledge of MS Office
  • Experience dealing directly with clients and maintaining client relationships, within a service or sales environment
  • Ability to process administrative and operational tasks
  • To be a self-starter, motivated and able to act of own imitative
  • Excellent communication skills (written and spoken)
