We are seeking a Training Manager to provide to manage all aspects of training and competence, working within the business as a tactical and strategic partner. This is an excellent opportunity to join one of the UK's leading Engineering Support Services organisations.

Job Description:

The Training Manager will manage all aspects of training and competence, working within the business as a tactical and strategic partner. In addition the Training Manager will support the central Learning and Development (L&D) Team in developing and delivering a value adding Training & Development function, which supports and furthers the achievement of business objectives and improves organisational performance.

Role and responsibilities include:
  • Responsible for managing all aspects of technical and compliance training.
  • Manage the training budget in conjunction with the Fleet Operations Management and Finance Teams.
  • Develop effective relationships with the management team and assist them / conduct analysis of training needs, the identification of Training & Development requirements; creation of development plans; and analysis of Training & Development activity.
  • Ensure all training delivered, either internally or externally, complies with legislation, standards and good practice.
  • Design, maintain, oversee and deliver the technical induction processes in conjunction with the line managers and wider business.
  • Assist with all activity associated with the ISO standards and Training & Development, including supporting accreditation activity and audits.
  • Manage the end-to-end technical Training & Development processes for the business including the provision of training to external customers.
  • Provide Business Leads and Management Teams with regular reports / updates on Training & Development activity including evaluation and reporting as appropriate, to ensure the service is tracked, monitored and reviewed to address potential issues and service improvement standards.
  • Provide expert strategic and operational Training & Development support to management, including the recommendation of both in-house and external solutions providing a blended approach to Training & Development activities; such as coaching, classroom training, workshops, on-the-job learning & e-learning.
  • Working with the Central SSD L&D Team design and arrange delivery of blended solutions and training sessions to the business across all levels.
  • Assist the Central SSD L&D Team with the local management of the Graduate and Apprentice programs.
  • Compile and maintain the Fleet Training & Skills matrix and report on all Training / L&D within the business.
  • Lead, manage, review, improve competency framework through the implementation of the Suitably Qualified Experienced Persons (SQEP) processes.

In order to be considered you will ideally have/be:
  • Proven experience of providing tactical and strategic operational Training & Development advice and guidance to a business
  • Proven experience of implementing successful Training & Development solutions within a fast paced and complex environment
  • Facilitation/Training Delivery experience
  • Experience of working within an operational multi team environment
  • Experience of management development and soft skills training
  • Experience of leading &managing a team
  • Budgetary management experience
