The leading supplier of milk recording services in the UK, is seeking a driven and enthusiastic Junior Support Analyst to join their IT support team.

Based in Wolverhampton, my client provides state-of-the-art information on individual cow's performance in terms of milk quality, yield and fertility. It is acknowledged by the industry to be the market leader in the provision and support of dairy software in Great Britain selling to huge UK retailers such as Tesco, Sainsbury and Marks and Spencer. The farmer is their customer and their recording services reach the cows which produce 60% of the UK's milk.

The successful candidate will be pro-active and have the capability to operate in both an individual and team-based environment. They will also enthusiastic to develop their skillset whilst effective communication, both written and verbally, is a must.

Experience with IT systems or an agricultural background would be beneficial but full training will be given. The role is varied and would be an ideal doorway for someone interested in starting a career in IT.

Duties include
  • Support and maintenance of in-house built software
  • Ensuring smooth running of LIVE operational systems
  • Identify and maintain/correct LIVE data errors
  • Identify any possible system errors or suggest improvements
  • Support ticket handling
  • Assisting business and database analysts
  • Basic First Line Hardware Support


Essential Skills/Knowledge
  • Basic IT Skills including use of MS Office Applications (Word and Excel)
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • To be a team player but, also, able to work individually
  • Proven problem solving skills
  • Enthusiastic and willing to learn
  • Ability to work in a busy environment
  • Flexible approach to delivering achievable tasks
  • Excellent communication
  • Maths and English C grades at GCSE, or equivalent
  • Advanced database knowledge i.e SQL or database design is advantageous


The Package

Depending on experience, my client are willing to offer a competitive salary of £18,000 - £22,000 which will be reviewed annually.
