Risk Officer Location: Greater Manchester Working Hours: 37.5 hours, Monday to Friday Salary: Competitive + Benefits About the role Capita's Electronic Monitoring Service (EMS) are currently looking for a Risk Officer. Reporting to the Compliance Manager, the role will be responsible for assisting in the development and management of processes to identify, assess and monitor the business risks and controls within EMS. The role requires someone who is highly organised, process focused, with excellent written and verbal communication skills. EMS is contracted by the Ministry of Justice to provide electronic monitoring services (including 'tagging') across England and Wales. Currently we manage a monitoring centre in Manchester, alongside a nationwide field force. What you will do: * Manage and update the EMS business risk register and associated registers relating to Health & Safety, Information Security and Anti-Fraud & Corruption. Assist with facilitating risk discussion forums. * Track all continuous improvement actions through a register that collates incidents, complaints, insurance claims, audit and investigation findings, and any other action plans. * Maintain the EMS legislation and regulatory compliance register, regularly reviewing and updating in response to any changes affecting the business. * Highlight operational risks through trend analysis to target further investigation and audit activity. * Update CASPER with Health and Safety compliance information and audit activity. Ensure that all accidents and incidents are uploaded to the system with relevant supporting evidence. * Assist with implementing and embedding Capita and EMS business assurance standards and policies. Periodically review EMS procedures and controls relating to key requirements. * Conduct regular review of the EMS Business Continuity Plan to ensure that it us up to date and meets the current requirements of the business. Update the plan where improvement is required. * Monitor and report on compliance in relation to the completion of mandatory training modules. * Report risk events and incidents to Group Risk and Compliance in line with Capita Policy. * Act as the Business Assurance representative in relation to business change initiatives, reviewing concerns and providing input on behalf of the team. Liaise with the Programme Team in relation to BAU risks and impact on new world procedures and initiatives.
