Assistant Project Manager

As one of the largest SPV and Asset Management service providers to the PPP / PFI infrastructure market, our client as a Trusted Partner seeks to protect and enhance the value of its investor’s assets, which currently stand at £3bn.

Position: Assistant Project Manager
Location: Daresbury, Cheshire
Job Type: Full Time, Permanent
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Salary: £22,000 - £24,000 per annum

About the role:

Assist in the delivery of construction refurbishment, remodelling, extension and planned maintenance projects across various PFI facilities in the education and healthcare sectors.


- Assist in the delivery of construction scheme for the various Project Companies within their Infrastructure portfolio and other external clients
- Provide a consistently high quality of service to projects
- Assist in procuring schemes efficiently to provide value-for money
- Work with multiple project stakeholders under the guidance of the Senior Project Manager
- Interface with professional / design teams
- Provide support on project validations, feasibilities and scope determination
- Assist in the co-ordination and issue of tender documentation
- Assist in the production and execution of various forms of contract documentation; JCT MW, JCT IFC, JCT D&B, Framework call-off, etc
- Assist in the undertaking of contract administration, management and works monitoring
- Provide post-project feedback to the wider team to aid continual improvement / lessons learnt
- Assist in the development and use of effective project management documents and regularly audit process
- Role may require national travel at peak times

- Enhanced DBS Check required.

Essential Skills / Experiences:

- Proven competence either via degree level qualification in a Building Surveying / Engineering discipline or significant related experience
- Working towards chartered status through any of: MRICS / MCIOB / MAPM / MCIBSE
- Significant post graduate experience working in the construction industry
- Demonstrable experience of refurbishment projects
- Knowledge of modern construction methods, Building Regulations, Building Bulletin, HTM / HBN, planning consents, and listed buildings
- Experience of being involved in construction projects
- Full UK driving licence and access to a car for business use (car allowance provided)
- Excellent communicator.
- Positive, driven and well-motivated individual.
- Problem solver.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and to adhere to deadlines.

Desirable Skills / Experiences:

- Early availability
- Refurbishment / older buildings experience
- Building Surveying experience
