Job Title: Course Leader - Leadership and Management (Apprenticeships) Salary: £27,930 - £35,763 per annum Area: A-level, Arts and Professional Studies Reporting to: Curriculum Manager Business Location: Taunton Job Purpose * Do you have a strong Leadership and management background with proven results? * Are you looking to move into a teaching role or extend your teaching experience in an incredibly dynamic, exciting and challenging environment? * Would you like to be at the forefront of leading our Leadership and Management apprenticeship provision, in response to the new employer driven standards and apprenticeship levy? The successful candidate will work within our Business, Management and Computing Department, and closely with our Business Development and Employer response team. You will lead and teach across programmes developed around the new business and administration apprenticeship standards. This new and exciting suite of programmes includes several key leadership and management opportunities including the Team Leader / Supervisor and Operations / Departmental Manager standards.You will be responsible for ensuring that courses meet employer and learner needs, industry standards and awarding body requirements. You will hold Leadership and Management qualifications, training experience and be able to demonstrate experience of working within quality systems and procedures. Job Responsibilities * Lead on developing and enhancing TLA for your allocated courses in line with the College TLA Strategy * Lead, support and mentor course team members to ensure outstanding teaching, learning and assessment across your allocated courses * Work closely with the Business Development teams to expand our offer, to include new frameworks/standards which meet national and local needs. * Work closely with the Business Development teams to market and promote Business, Management and Computing work based learning programmes, and be responsive to new business opportunities within the area. * Ensure learners for your allocated courses are enrolled on the correct course and registered on the correct qualification aims * Ensure all learner qualifications for your allocated courses are claimed on successful completion * Ensure schemes of work for allocated courses are appropriate and work with your Curriculum Manager to ensure these are used effectively * Plan, organise and participate in observations with learners to support their development and progression * Write course information sheets and provide course information as needed to support marketing activities * Work with the team to cover lessons in line with College expectations Essential Criteria * Hold a minimum of a Level 5 CMI qualification / an equivalent L&M qualification (e.g. Degree) / Chartered Membership of the CMI * Hold a teaching qualification or be willing to work towards one * Current or recent experience of teaching or training * An ability to lead the development of teaching, learning and assessment across Leadership and Management apprenticeship programmes * Evidence of specialist subject knowledge in key areas relevant to Leadership and Management * Excellent communicator with highly developed interpersonal skills * Strong desire to lead a high performing team and work collaboratively across the College * Strong desire to see all learners succeed and progress * Skills and experience in problem solving and a flexible and adaptable approach * Clear understanding of the needs of learners and how these may be met * Willing and able to develop curriculum, teaching and learning materials in subject specialisms as part of continuous development * Strong IT skills Desirable Criteria * Hold a Level 7 CMI qualification / an equivalent L&M qualification (e.g. Master's Degree) / Chartered Fellowship of the CMI * Possess experience of teaching CMI Level 3 / Level 5 / Level 7 L&M qualifications * Knowledge of the Level 3 and Level 5 Leadership and Management apprenticeship standards * Hold an assessor qualification * Knowledge and experience of working with E-Portfolios * Possess experience of Programme/Course Management/Leadership Benefits * Staff will automatically become a member of the Teachers' Pension Scheme and pay contributions as determined by annual salary levels.
