Are you experienced in supporting students who have English as an additional language? Our partner secondary school located in Rochdale are currently looking to appoint an EAL teaching assistant to work with a range of students who need support in learning the English language. The main languages spoken in school include; * Portuguese & Spanish * Arabic &Urdu * Polish * French & Italian * Romanian This school are looking for a bilingual or experienced EAL teaching assistant to support continental European speaking students. Due to a mid-year intake of students, this school are looking to support EAL pupils throughout their learning and help promote English language skills. As an EAL teaching assistant within this school you will be required to work closely with the EAL co-ordinator to deliver interventions with targeted students during school day to help support their learning and integration into school. If you have previous experience working 1:1 and in small groups, this role would be perfect for you. Ideally, applicants will have one or more of the following; * A TEFL or CELTA qualification * Previous experience supporting EAL pupils in secondary schools * Bilingual or some level of fluency in European languages - Portuguese and Italian would be advantageous Located in Rochdale, just 5 minutes from the M62 junction 20 and Heywood, this school is easily accessible from North Manchester, Oldham and Bury. The school serves a catchment area of significant diversity; the split of pupils is close to half and half of white British and also Asian heritage.
