The appointed Senior Electrical Engineer will manage the projects and the operational activity of our client’s electrical team to ensure that projects are delivered on time and to budget. The Position: Based predominantly from our client’s Northamptonshire head office but involving regular travel to client meetings and other company offices, the successful candidate will be responsible for the detailed design and coordination of electrical solutions including low voltage distribution, small power, communications, lighting, fire alarm systems, intruder alarms, access control and lightning protection, principal responsibilities including: Communicating with clients and advising on suitable technical solutions to meet their requirements, budgets and timescales Maintaining existing client relationships to secure repeat business Producing cost plans, pre-tender estimates and cost comparisons Undertaking site visits to carry out surveys and prepare reports Attending design team meetings Liaising with architects and contractors Attending project review meetings to advise Directors on progress and delegate tasks Briefing the team on scopes of works, costs and timescales Managing junior/intermediate team members Monitoring design progress in accordance with programmes/deadlines Producing specifications, schematics, calculations and drawings Liaising with suppliers, manufactures and specialists to provide expert knowledge and costs The Candidate: Applicants will be expected to demonstrate: A minimum ONC/HNC/Degree qualification (ideally chartered) in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering Up to date knowledge of the latest regulations and British Standards An understanding of RIBA stages and BREEAM The ability to use technical packages such as CAD, Dialux/Relux, Amtech and 3D Naviswork Previous leadership experience within a consultancy environment The ability to manage and track numerous projects simultaneously Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with colleagues and external clients Excellent attention to detail in interpreting and producing detailed technical drawings A calm and confident approach to taking the lead in challenging situations The Company: Established for over 25 years, our client has expanded to become one of the UK’s top 30 M&E consultancies, now employing more than 80 people across seven strategically located offices.
