My client is a world renowned Global manufacturer and are highly recognised within their industry. Due to growth within the Research & Development team they currently have an opening for an Electrical Senior Design Engineer to work on new product design and design improvements of automated machinery used at their various manufacturing and processing plants in the North West.

Working within the R&D Engineering team you will be involved in the full project life cycle of electrical & control system design work for new products and processes. As a senior member of the team, the position requires experience of designing electrical power systems, instrumentation, PLCs and motion control equipmen,t to design and implement innovative solutions to keep the company ahead of the competition.

You will also have responsibility for managing the engineering aspects of R&D design projects including technical responsibility for other design engineers and workshop-based staff, and will work with colleagues from various functions in multi-disciplinary project teams. A consummate attitude to Health & Safety in design and behavioural practices is required, as is strict adherence to quality requirements, including responsibilities within the CE marking process.

Ideally they are looking for an innovative, self-motivated Design engineer that has significant electrical and controls design experience within automated machinery and a BEng in Electrical Engineering or related discipline. Chartered Electrical Engineer status or working toward Chartership would be advantageous.

Other Core Competencies
Experienced in designing electrical and control systems from conception through to implementation
Specification of control system architectures
Design of power and control systems for applications such as machinery, heating systems and motion and positioning systems
Specification of instrumentation for industrial processes
Specification and programming of PLC or configurable control systems such as those of Allen Bradley, Siemens and Pilz.
