Maintenance Electrician MANCHESTER Salary: £32,000 / £34,000 Benefits: Pension, 26 +8days holiday Shift: Week1: Mon, Sat, Sun 12 hour shift / Week2: Wed / Thurs / Friday 12 hour shift / Week3: Mon / Tues / Thursday – 10.5 hour shift 42 hours per weeks Environment: Packaging The electrical maintenance engineer must assist the engineering manager to produce and update a maintenance schedule enabling visibility of planned work and progress. Working together with the engineering manager and engineering team it is your duty to ensure the planned and reactive maintenance work is conducted safely, efficiently and within budget. As a member of the engineering team it is your duty to collaborate with the departments to develop inventive proposals to improve productivity, safety, quality and reduce costs to enable to company to achieve its vision and KPI's. Key Tasks: Report and address any Health & Safety issues within in the Engineering Department in accordance with the Company's Health & Safety Policy, Regulations and Procedures. Conduct daily Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) checks and record in the daily PPE checklist Comply to the Company's Quality Control Procedures Maintain excellent housekeeping standards across the Engineering Department It is your responsibility to maintain an optimum level of component parts on site to reduce potential down time whilst protecting company funds Maintain and uphold engineering qualifications, share best and inventive practice with the engineering department It is your responsibility to carry out company maintenance needs ensuring the machinery, equipment and buildings are efficient, optimising productivity and any work that is carried out is within budget. It is your duty to carry out preventative planned maintenance and servicing, recording all findings and with minimum impact on productivity. Following your probationary period you will, when required, respond to 'out of hours' calls and comply with the Engineer Call Out procedure You are responsible for ensuring the premises are secure at all times It is your responsibility to resolve all emergency/ad-hoc repairs and make a recommendation to prevent a reoccurrence It is your responsibility to conduct all safety critical checks required on site in accordance with relevant legislation and report completion of checks to the Operations manager Responsible for the calibration of equipment in accordance with legislation and maintenance schedule Ensure any third party contractors are inducted on site Conduct the weekly fire alarm check and record test results Weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly Planned Preventative Maintenance to be undertaken, plus any machinery installations and servicing. General for all staff: The principle roles and responsibilities will change from time to time and the post holder is required to undertake any additional duties as deemed appropriate. Staff are required to have a Personal Development Plan and to participate in training, meetings or conference considered relevant to their job. Staff must carry out their duties with full regard to the rules policies and procedures and conditions of service contained in the staff handbook To abide by the company's policies and procedure To adhere to all health and safety legislation To undertake any other task that is deemed reasonable within your skill set
