Do you have a background in Category Management within a Food or Drink? - Is your experience of working with own label products with the major UK supermarkets? - Are you passionate about being the category expert? If so, we’d love to hear from you as our client based in the West Midlands is looking to recruit a Category Manager to join their team. Reporting into the Head of Category, you will be working as part of a high profile team within a business where category insight drives the business agenda. This business supplies all the major multiples but this role focuses on just retailer and you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that long term relationships are maintained with this customer in a role where innovation and category insight is equally as important as data analysis. Getting consumed in numbers doesn’t drive growth alone, understanding the consumer, looking at innovation and pushing boundaries is the key, and in this role you will get the chance to do it all. Key Responsibilities for the role of Category Manager: - Your main responsibility in this role is drive the business agenda to ensure growth to the business year on year, as well as category growth in all key measures. - Working with one customer only, you will deliver category reviews as well as insight both internally. - Review range changes and fixture strategy to maximise sales. - Work with the Commercial and NPD Teams to ensure full alignment in the direction of the category / business. The Successful Candidate for the role of Category Manager: - Experience of Category Management and dealing with the major supermarkets is essential. - Previous working knowledge of Neilsen, Dunnhumby, Retail Link and similar data sources, and be highly analytical. - A proven track record of working with own label products. - Must have excellent communication skills both verbally and written, including presentations.
