Autism Teaching Assistant Required for Hackney Pay Scale: £65 -£70 per day depending on experience Required: ASAP GSL Education are currently looking for a passionate and experienced Autism Teaching Assistant to work within one of our partner primary schools located in Hackney. The school is looking for a dedicated SEN teaching assistant that is able to support a child with autism and complex needs. The focus of our client School is that every child matters and goes to the heart of their distinctive character, spirit and attitude. Independent learning is valued by the children and there is a clear focus on sure-footed personal development, where social skills are encouraged to flourish. Our client prides itself on their pastoral care for each individual student. A warm, welcoming and caring atmosphere helps promote hard work, loyalty and co-operation. The successful candidate needs to meet the following criteria: • Experience delivering specialist interventions with autistic children and/or children with speech & language difficulties • Must have experience of working as an SEN Teaching Assistant within the last two years • Exceptional communicators and strong team-player • Able to fit in well with the supportive staff-team at the school • A pro-active and enthusiastic teaching assistant who can bring to the post lots of ideas and a passion for working with SEN children • Eligibility to live and work in the UK • The desire and motivation to meet the challenge of working with children with SEN • Ability to stay calm and objective when presented with unusual or challenging behaviour We welcome applications from all Teaching Assistants who feel that they can add value to an already flourishing department and whom can prosper in a highly effective, fast-paced environment.
