Part-Time Debt Recovery Assistant London £40 - 45,000 FTE Our client, a highly successful law firm with an international client base, is seeking a Part-Time Debt Recovery Assistant to join their Risk & Compliance team on a part-time basis. This role is for 15-18 hours a week, flexible over 3-5 working days. Duties of the Debt Recovery Assistant will include: · Running a streamline and efficient debt collection service, providing litigation support as part of the revenue control process · Reviewing files before action is taken, agreeing a strategy with the Finance Partner · Initiating legal proceedings where required · Ensuring that fee earnings are kept fully appraised of all proceedings relating to their clients or files · Negotiating and monitoring payments by instalments · Liaising between clients, fee earners and the risk management team · Speaking to revenue controllers regarding invoices and disbursements Debt Recovery Assistant - What we're looking for: · A good understanding of court debt recovery processes · Specialist knowledge of in-house debt collection for professional practices · Good academics - ideally a 2:1 or above at degree level · Knowledge of professional negligence and insolvency, as well as international debt collection, would be preferred but is not essential · Familiarity with relevant legislation including Solicitors' Accounts Rules · Proven experience of direct client care Debt Recovery Assistant - What's in it for you? · Exceptional training and opportunities for career development · Competitive salary and a comprehensive range of benefits, with a real focus on staff wellbeing May & Stephens acts as an "employment agency" in relation to this vacancy EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES May & Stephens Recruitment is committed to equal opportunities and actively seeks applications from all sectors of the community irrespective of sex, race, colour, nationality, ethnic or national origin, or disability
