Technical Manager/Broking Manager

Duties:

  • Respond to requests for new business quotations, obtaining all relevant information, sourcing quotes from the market and maintaining an excellent conversion rate

  • To be dynamic and forward thinking in all areas of the role and to be recognised by the market as a highly knowledgeable and innovative Broking Manager.

  • To provide advice and excellent service to the Development Department, Senior Commercial Account Managers and Commercial Account Handlers, negotiating for them and with the insurance marketplace to ensure the product(s) provided to them and their clients meet(s) their requirements at a competitive premium.

  • To develop strong relationships with our key "partner" Insurers and to liaise with them regarding schemes/delegated facilities which will assist in the retention/growth of our business

  • To promote and retain excellent relationships with all Insurers as directed by the policy laid down by Group MD.

  • To deal with and negotiate complex insurance programmes, and being able to offer added value over and above competitive premiums.

  • To assist in retaining clients and seek to cross sell any additional cover or gaps in existing cover by regularly reviewing products available and current client needs

  • To ensure that cover continually meets clients’ requirements.

  • To act as a technical point of reference to colleagues.

The Person

  • Ability present risks to the market, emphasising all positive features in such a way as to secure the very best terms from underwriters.

  • To write both New Business and Renewal Reports in a clear and easily-digestible style that can be understood by the insurance layman whilst simultaneously communicating the features and benefits of the programme being put forward.

  • To ensure a superior level of technical expertise, acting as a 'font of knowledge’ and point of reference to the Development and Commercial Departments

Experience:

  • The successful candidate must have Corporate Broking experience
