Fairways is recruiting an experienced part-time Accounts Assistant to join our Perth based client who are a leading manufacturer. This is a contractual position working 25 hours per week for a duration of 3-6 months commencing early February 2018.

Job Purpose

The Accounts Assistant is responsible for delivering the management of the Accounts Receivable function for the Production facility and Stoke Sales unit. Ensuring that customer invoices are accurately processed, to control cash collections and allocated at the right time to support the business in achievement of their goals and to support future growth objectives. To support the delivery of the objectives for the finance and purchasing team.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Daily management of the Accounts Receivable Ledger
  • Manage cash collection process for internal and external customers including the internal Factoring and Netting process, ensuring prompt payment and zero overdue balances
  • Process and issue manual and internal invoices
  • Customer account statements
  • Ensure all queries with customer orders and invoices are investigated and resolved in a timely manner
  • Develop relationships with key customer accounts
  • Bank Account and Petty Cash reconciliations
  • Assist the Finance Team with month-end routines.
  • Process journal entries including accruals and prepayments
  • Assist with Fixed Asset Ledger and Accounts Payable Ledger
  • Provide cover for the Accounts Payable Ledger
  • Other ad hoc duties and reporting to the site finance and management team
  • System Maintenance - the upkeep of Accounts Receivable modules of Movex
  • Ensure adherence to all requirements for document retention
  • Key player in the set up and implementation of M3

Required Skills

To be considered you must have the following experience :-

  • A working knowledge of accounting gained within and Accounts Receivable and finance environment
  • An HNC or HND in Accounting or equivalent qualification or qualified by experience
  • 7 years preferable experience within a similar engineering manufacturing background
  • Working knowledge and understanding of ERP and AP work tool systems, Outlook and Excel
  • Have the ability to multi task and prioritise workload and report to tight deadlines
  • Proactive approach to problem solving
  • Experience of dealing with internal and external Audit processes
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team
  • Excellent attention to detail

Salary £14.1K to £16.2K dependent upon experience
