Electrical Engineer Derbyshire £28,000 – 40,000 + Overtime (Or Car Allowance depdant upon salary) + 5% Pension The Company My client is a process engineering specialist who design and manufacture turnkey process equipment solutions for clients in the food, beverage, pharmaceutical, materials handling amongst other industries. The company turns over £30 million a year with a headcount of 130 and an incredible 70 professional engineers (18 of whom are chartered) across software, process, electrical and mechanical design. The company have a trading history that dates back over 200 years and a senior management and directorship team who are all home grown from within the business. The company are owned by a large international growth are in 2018 are due to have the biggest year in their history making it a very exciting year to join the business. Each project is developed from initial enquiry through to full design and finally installation and commissioning on site, a project could last up to 2 years and involves input from process, electrical and mechanical engineers. The company are currently looking for a Electrical Engineer to be involved with electrical engineering aspects of projects from procurement, design through to site supervision and commissioning. The Role The role of Electrical Engineer will involve: * A kick of meeting for a new project begins with P&ID’s being produced by the process engineering team. * The Electrical engineer determines the size of cables, number of motors and carries out loading calculations to ensure the right electrical equipment is procured. * You will then produce specifications for control panels and electrical installation companies and go out to tender to choose the right supplier for these activities. * Specifying the instruments required for the system including switches, flow meters and temperature gauges. * You will use AutoCAD to produce single line diagrams, cable routings and panel layouts required. * Once the project goes to installation and commissioning phase at site you will be responsible for the supervision and management of the sub contract companies carrying out these activities. This will require travel to the project site which could be in the UK, Europe or USA. The Person To be successful in your application for this Electrical Engineer’s vacancy you will need: * An electrical engineering qualification. * Experience in an electrical design or project role for either special purpose machinery or process plant projects. * Experience in electrical engineering calculations for sizing equipment. * To be happy to travel to site for installation phase of a project. The Benefits * £28,000 – 40,000 * Paid Overtime for all hours after 37 hours * 50% uplift on salary when overseas for more than two weeks at a time * 5% pension * Working for a business that supports people through chartership. * A considerable experience engineering team to learn from.
