Public Health Nurse - Health Visiting
The health visiting/public health nursing service operates an open access service to families and communities within home, community and primary care settings. You will promote a healthy lifestyle within the local population giving particular attention to the identified health needs of the locality, and target groups such as children 0-5 years, school age and young people, vulnerable families. You will work in a manner which reflects the World Health Organisation principles of addressing inequalities in health through participation, collaboration, empowerment and primary care. The health visiting/public health nursing service will also undertake case management which would include assessment of health needs, primary prevention, identifying vulnerability and targeting interventions appropriately to meet the needs. You will be expected to provide an accessible, appropriate, high quality, culturally sensitive and effective health visiting/public health nursing service to all age groups in the community, by working in partnership with service users, care providers and other agencies. It is essential that you are currently a Registered Nurse with the NMC with a post registration qualification in Public Health Nursing/Health Visiting and have significant post registration experience. The shift pattern for this post is 8.30am - 4.30pm 4 days per week. A current driving licence would be desirable. This post requires membership of Disclosure Scotland's PVG Scheme.
