Acorn is recruiting on behalf of our established client for an Interim Accountant.

This will initially be a shot term contract for 4-8 weeks but may lead to a more long term opportunity for the successful candidate.

Reporting to the Business Manager and the MD, you will be responsible for the following aspects within the accounting function:

*Costings, including accurate margin analysis by product and customer
*Analysis of project spend vs budget
*Preparation of management reports and variance profit analysis reports
*Assist MD with site and freight negotiations
*Reporting on cost improvement strategy
*Introduction of perpetual inventory for 2 sites
*Stock reconciliation
*Responsibility for maintenance of Fixed Asset register
*SQL reporting and development
*Credit management, including reviewing credit limits and collection of bad debt, cash flow forecasting
*Statutory accounting, including VAT, Corporation Tax, intrastat and PAYE, and liaison with auditors; reporting statistics to the ONS
*Reconciliation of bank accounts
*Dealing with loan repayments / intercompany accounts
*Close Month End/Year End routine
*Involvement with Payroll and Purchase Ledger
*Monthly accounts including preparation of journals, accounts to trial balance, reporting financials to group and reviewing control accounts

You will have worked within the manufacturing industry previously.
