Operations Manager (Financial Services)
The Company: I am currently working on behalf of a highly reputable, expanding, HNW biased IFA business based in central Leeds who are looking to bring in an experienced Operations Manager who is au-fait with the financial advisory sector. My client are circa 110 staff strong now across multiple sites across the country, with Leeds being the national hub for the group and are now looking to expand their mid-managerial team in Q1 2018. This is a newly created role aimed at progressing medium term into a Head of Ops type role within the business, with the potential to develop to board level, so offers an exciting career opportunity for someone looking to make that step up.
The Role: As a newly appointed Operations Manager within the business you would be working as part of a highly productive, high performing back-office team providing full support to the Advisers in a process/procedural biased capacity. You will be accountable for the build, production and maintenance of workflow and Risk MI, including initial high-level analysis (highlighting any issues, inconsistencies, areas of concern, etc) and recommending areas of improvement to how the business is run day to day. You will also be responsible for oversight of paraplanning, the business processing unit and both adviser and staff development from a training perspective. Working closely alongside HR, and the senior partners you will be tasked with providing an operational outlook to coincide with business expansion, adviser recruitment and a business looking to make big strides across the next 3-5 years nationally.
*Candidates must be open to some travel UK-wide on a monthly basis. Once/twice per month working from other offices outside of Leeds.
The Person: The successful candidate will come from an IFA/wealth management background and have exposure to supporting IFA’s/financial advisers from an internal ops background. You will have wide-ranging knowledge across the private wealth spectrum (investments, pensions and IHT planning) and ideally 2 years’ Operations Management experience working in a similar FS environment. The role would suit an ambitious operations specialist who is looking for a role that has the opportunity to develop medium-term, and be keen to take on further responsibilities in line with business needs.
