Housing Officer needed for a 35 hour per week, 6 month fixed term contract in Bristol
Your new company
You will be joining a well established housing association in Bristol, providing support and housing related services to a wide range of service users. Your new role
As a housing officer you will be working on a full time 6 month temporary basis. You will provide a high quality and effective housing service to vulnerable people whose accommodation may be at risk. As a housing officer you will be managing a patch of properties in Central and South Bristol, going through tenancy sign ups, rent arrears and ASB management. As a housing officer you will develop links with specialist providers and signpost when necessary. As a housing officer you will ensure the services provided meet the tenants needs and manage complaints effectively. As a housing officer you will deal with tenancy queries and carry out property inspections, ensuring maintenance of the building is of quality and any complaints are dealt with. You will work closely with the tenancy management team ensuring tenancies are sustained and also with the tenancy involvement team, advising if a service user is in need of extra care through volunteering schemes.
What you'll need to succeed
To be a successful housing officer you must have up to date knowledge of social housing and previous experience in a similar role is essential. To be a successful housing officer you must have good communication skills and be able to deal with challenging situations. As a housing officer you must have a driving license and access to a car. Relevant knowledge of benefits, income collection and tenancy management is essential to be successful in this role.
