This role will provide a high calibre candidate with the opportunity to work in a finance department which is dynamic, fast paced, evolving and entrepreneurial. It serves as a business partner to the front office and collaborates with both external fund managers and external service providers to deliver for investors. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain general private equity industry knowledge and depending on the experience of the individual, the tasks and responsibilities outlined below could evolve to take on more responsibility. - Monitoring investment valuations provided by underlying investment managers in “real time”, down to a portfolio company level, primarily through interpreting and capturing Financial Statement information. - Ensuring classification of cash flows related to investment positions are accurately recorded in the investment monitoring system. - Engaging with multi-jurisdictional administrators to manage reporting and funding requirements of complex vehicle structures - Supporting the Deal teams with any required analysis such as overall fund exposure, historic investment manager (GP) performance, and any existing position performance within the current portfolios. - Setting up new deal structures and processes within the finance system. Using this knowledge to become a ‘deal expert` and educate the other team members on deal dynamics and processes. - Facilitation of multi-currency funding requirements; interacting with external Administrators and Fund Accounting team to ensure timely funding of new deals. - Reviewing the weekly reconciliation between the Administrator`s system and the in-house system, checking for accuracy with attention to detail, and ensuring issues are dealt with in a timely manner. - Preparing a quarterly review pack documenting the work performed to obtain comfort over the funds` valuations. - Preparing and reviewing key reports for different stakeholders on a quarterly basis. - Reviewing SPV accounts/fund accounts prepared by the administrators. - Newly qualified ACA or ACCA qualification (or equivalent) with first time passes - Strong academics 2:1 degree or higher (or equivalent) - Organised with excellent attention to detail - Experience working with Administrators/third party providers advantageous - Strong communication skills Walker Hamill has been a specialist finance and strategy recruiter for almost 30 years.
