Supply Chain Contracts Manager required for 6 month contract role to be based in Wolverhampton. Position Purpose/Objective To assist Commodity Managers with the drafting and creation of contracts To support Commodity Managers in contract negotiations with suppliers To support enforcement of contract terms with suppliers To be the department's lead point of contact for legal support and advice To provide legislative advice to the Supply Chain Management team enabling them to procure in accordance with EU procurement legislation and other relevant legislation To proactively ensure that the department's practice is fully up to date in respect of any developments in case law or new legislation Key Accountabilities · To take the lead role in ensuring all supply chain activities are undertaken in accordance with all applicable legislation · To ensure that any legal requirements are embedded within policies, templates and guidance in a timely fashion and that team members are able to implement such requirements competently. · To provide day-to-day advice, support and guidance to colleagues in respect of legislative matters, taking a solution focused approach to business problems and providing a risk based analysis of options available. · Populating template contracts for Supply Chain function · Working with the legal functions to ensure adherence to process and approval of contracts · Contract and NDA retention and reporting · Review suppliers' terms and conditions and advise relevant Commodity Manager of any areas of risk, ambiguity or commercial disadvantage, for example termination clauses. · Where disputes over contract terms arise, providing initial advice and support to the team in terms of interpretation of contractual requirements. · Work with Supply Chain team to ensure that appropriate legal requirements are included in contract terms and monitoring. · Building strong working relationships across the Supply Chain Management department to develop understanding of current legislation · Providing guidance on sharing of sensitive data along the supply line while still maintaining an adequate level of protection. · Providing advice and guidance on different cultural and legal differences in managing global logistics. Key Targets / Metrics · All Supply Chain activities and contracts meet the required legislative standards · Legislative requirements are embedded into day-to-day practice and readily understandable by colleagues and customers · Template contracts are populated to a consistently high standard · Percentage of spend under LTA and clauses meet Company policy requirements · Contract and approvals storage as per audit requirements Qualifications/Experience/Requirements The Supply Chain Contracts Manager should have previous experience in delivering supply chain/legal activities, preferably demonstrating experience in the following areas: · Demonstrable professional understanding of all the legal aspects of supply chain activity in an international environment (USA,UK, Italy, France) · Ability to keep up to date with current supply chain legislation · Demonstrable cross team working to embed legislative principles to all supply chain activities · Experience in contract drafting and providing paralegal advice to the contract drafting process · Experience in monitoring compliance and ensuring all supply chain activity meets legislative requirements In order to be considered for this role you will have excellent personal organisational management skills and be able to act on your own initiative. You will have the ability to produce high quality written reports and documents and will have proven experience in a similar role
