Our client is a well-established, fast growing European market leading, manufacturing engineering business. They are a privately owned, entrepreneurial SME, who, due to on-going expansion both within core business and a broader field, is committed to driving continuous improvement and strategic development throughout the business. Following continued business growth a superb opportunity has now arisen for a dynamic junior buyer to join their successful operation.
As Production Cell Leader, traditionally know as Cell Leader / Senior Team Leader / Front Line Manager etc., you will be responsible for driving and leading your team to maximise output. You will be a strong and natural leader, motivated by the opportunity of producing as many units as is possible and able to develop a culture of the same within your team.

There is a great deal of opportunity, you will be fully supported and trained, yet given the autonomy to make decisions once you’re ready.
The purpose of the role as Production Cell Leader is to support the Production Manager, and other Cell Leaders, to ensure that the manufacturing unit is meeting its customer delivery date and providing high quality product to meet the customer’s specification in accordance with the production schedule.
The role is unit specific with the expectation that the Cell Leader progresses / develops through to full Unit Manager capability. The role should provide leadership and direction to team members and will be expected to directly oversee the immediate team members in a hands-on role.
As Production Cell Leader, you will lead or facilitate a number of business improvement projects being championed by the Unit or Acting Unit Manager - Continuous Improvement projects, Training levels, & Process Instructions will be the remit of the assigned 'Quality Technician’
- Previous considerable experience in identifying trends, taking action to accommodate identified changes.
- Strong motivational, coaching and training experience, assertively managing a team using modern operational processes.
- Experience of working within auditable quality accreditation processes, e.g. TS16949.
- Team Leader / Supervisory / Charge-hand or equivalent experience advantageous.
- Experience of working as a practical 'Hands-on’ semi-skilled production assembly line.
- Experience of implementing practical business improvements at the front line / detail level.
