This is a superb opportunity for a senior B2B conference professional to join one of the UK's most prestigious media brands.

Our client has built a diversified commercial model, with equal strength in advertising, subscriptions and circulation, commerce and events. This latter division is entering an exciting period of expansion and is therefore recruiting for a dynamic, driven, entrepreneurial, conference-savvy Divisional Director to lead its growing conference business. The Conference Division currently runs over 20 events per year with the majority favouring the `large scale event' or festival model. The division works closely with the wider editorial team and is therefore able to leverage that relationship to deliver exceptional speakers and events. They believe that there is significant opportunity to develop and expand this portfolio, both in the UK and internationally and they are therefore looking for a seasoned conference expert, with significant management and growth experience to lead this.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success at a senior level within the commercial conference world, with in-depth knowledge and experience of this sector. Ideally you will have:

  • Worked with one of the main global commercial conference companies
  • Experience of managing a conference business, or a sizeable division within a larger entity
  • First hand knowledge of managing all areas of a conference business
  • Extensive experience of creating, implementing and successfully driving a conference growth strategy.

The Conference Divisional Director will be a passionate and experienced conference expert. You will be a unique mixture of creativity, ambition, drive and entrepreneurialism combined with a passion for process, structure and planning. The Conference Division is still a relatively new entity and it feels and behaves as if it is an embryonic business because of the huge, but achievable ambition it has. The ideal candidate will understand the considerable advantages of being part of a rapidly growing, corporately supported operation.
