Health Improvement Practitioner - Prison Smoking Cessation
As Health Improvement Practitioner (prison smoking cessation) you will be part of the NHS Greater Glasgow & Clydes (NHS GGC) Smokefree Services Team, within the Public Health and Health Improvement Directorate. You will provide smoking cessation interventions in the prison setting for an initial 12 month period to support the imminent introduction of the national smoke free prisons policy. You will be based within HMP Barlinnie but will work across all three prisons within NHS GGC - HMP Barlinnie, HMP Low Moss and HMP Greenock - as required. You will be responsible for the delivery of stop smoking support to both prisoners and Scottish Prision Service staff; promoting services effectively; working in partnership with stakeholders including the Scottish Prison Service, Third Sector, NHS prison Healthcare and Health Improvement; developing and delivering training to a range of audiences; collating and returning data, producing relevant reports; on-going evaluation and quality assurance of services. It is essential you are educated to Degree level or equivalent in a relevant discipline, you will have significant experience delivering smoking cessation and of working in a prison setting or with challenging client groups. You should be able to demonstrate experience of project planning, management and implementation, partnership working and negotiation. The shift pattern is variable.
