This post provides the opportunity to influence and develop the practice within a busy medical unit. The Acute Admission Unit receives acute admissions directly from the A&E and GP service and is a demanding and challenging environment.

Applicants should be motivated and committed to providing high standards of nursing care. You should have proven ability to influence changes in practice, alongside effective leadership skills. The post holder must demonstrate ongoing learning relevant to their clinical experience and be able to evidence this. It would be desirable for the applicant have experience in managing a team and taking charge of a clinical environment. Applicants are required to be fully up-to-date on mandatory training within their own workplace and be able to provide relevant current training relevant to their workplace.

This post offers a great leadership opportunity; each Charge Nurse will lead a team and coordinate the capacity and flow of patients in a dynamic clinical environment. It would be desirable if the applicant could demonstrate their involvement in managing change within their current workplace.

Applicants should be registered on either Part 1 or Part 12 of the NMC Register, and demonstrate evidence of previous post–registration experience within a relevant speciality.

Hours of work are: 37.5 per week (Day/Night rotation)
