Purchase Ledger Clerk

North Shields

Kelburn are pleased to be working with a successful global manufacturing business with a base in North Shields to assist them with the recruitment of a Purchase Ledger Clerk into their finance team, who will be employed on a permanent basis.

The Role

  • Liaising with suppliers regarding invoice queries
  • Match invoices or credit notes received from a supplier to goods received notes
  • Ad-hoc tasks as and when required for finance department
  • Processing of purchase invoices and credit notes
  • Maintain and update the purchase ledger
  • Reconciliation of supplier statements
  • Dealing with supplier accounts queries
  • Confer with purchasing personnel
  • Confer with vendors
  • Confer with warehouse
  • Use of MRP/ERP systems
  • Monthly supplier payment run
  • Update supplier and customer information on database

The Ideal Candidate Will

  • Have previous experience in a similar role, within a manufacturing business
  • Be experienced in working on MRP systems and be competent with the use of Excel
  • Use their well-developed communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with other departments and customers
  • Have an excellent working knowledge of UK financial regulations
  • Be able to work autonomously and as part of a multi-skilled team
