My client is looking for an experienced Procurement Manager to join their team who will take responsibility for the company's supply of products and services in line with the company's Procurement and Commercial Management Strategy.

My client is a nuclear organisation who is leading the way in new build technology and who are entering a very exciting phase of their life-cycle and are looking to add an experienced Procurement Manager to the team

Description

The Role

  • Develops, implements and maintains appropriate processes, procedures and systems for the effective and efficient delivery of the procurement function, ensuring that all systems are fit for purpose and continuous learning is fostered and leads to process improvement
  • Manages the end to end procurement process from planning, setting of procurement requirements, issuing of tenders through to evaluation, selection & contract award and coordinates the internal sign off and approval pre-award
  • Responsible to negotiate on behalf of the organisation to obtain advantageous commercial arrangement including progressing innovative contracting models that seek a partnership and collaborative approach
  • Develops and maintains relationships with both internal and external stakeholders including the project, delivery partners and the wider supply chain
  • Ensures processes and systems are established for the appropriate storage of all contractual documentation
  • Identifies and challenges performance issues and non-compliance and drives improvement actions/plans to address

Profile

The Candidate

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
  • Member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS)
  • Experience of leading, managing & developing a team, maintaining a collaborative and constructive working environment within a department and across the organisation
  • Experience of budget management and control
  • The ability to manage complex shareholder, stakeholder, and partnership relationships
  • Experience of communicating and presenting highly complex information to internal and external stakeholders
  • Significant experience in the Energy or Construction Industries, in a commercial or procurement role
  • Experience in working in a start-up project

Job Offer

My client is looking to offer a day rate of up to £600p/d for the ideal candidate
