An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen within the Macmillan team for a nurse with a strong background of caring for people affected by cancer and those with palliative care needs.

We are looking for an enthusiastic nurse with substantial clinical experience, knowledge and skills to join the Macmillan team, covering Lewis and Harris, on a permanent basis.

The Macmillan Nurse service provides a specialist/expert service in both the hospital and community environment to patients, carers and families where there is a diagnosis of cancer and/or palliative care needs.

The aim of the service is to promote and facilitate management of the complexities in the symptomatic and psycho-social wellbeing of people with cancer and those with palliative care needs.

An essential part of the role is effective collaborative working with fellow healthcare professionals, social carers (professional and informal) and the voluntary sector.

The successful applicant will be required to register with the PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups) Scheme. This post is not eligible for relocation expenses.
