Software Engineering Manager
Salary: up to £70,000

My client is a Global business creating Payment Platforms in partnership with Amazon, Google and Netflix to name a few. They have a need for a Software Engineering Manager to take on the responsibility for managing the product development team's engineers, driving innovation and a quality mind-set across the teams, escorting them to successful delivery of the product roadmap.

The successful Candidate will be responsible for team's career development plans to ensure they have the appropriate skills and knowledge for delivery of current and future technology.

This role requires a manager who can lead, coach and mentor the team. You will also need to know the technical challenges faced by the team to assist them in achieving success.

The Position
Responsible for developing individual staff and the team, including mentoring and coaching, ensuring appropriate skills are maintained and new skills are acquired at the required pace to ensure project successful delivery.
Line manages to Principal and Senior Development Engineers.
Collaborates with the Product Owners and other stakeholders to ensure the product development team understand business and product requirements.
Understands and participates in technical discussion and decisions to ensure that the product timing, quality and functional requirements are met.
Schedule the provision of resources, monitor progress to plan and take appropriate action to satisfy the plan for delivery, leading discussions on compromise and alternative plans as required.
Empowers the development team to own and improve the Agile delivery processes and tools used for them.

Strong proven understanding of full SDLC and the processes surrounding it.
Experience in man-management across multiple teams.
Exceptional communication skills, across different levels
Ability to work with other technical managers on shared projects
Must have proven experience in coaching and mentoring teams and individuals.
Ability to influence and manage internal stakeholders, to ensure goals and objectives are understood and met within agreed prioritization.
Ability to work to deadlines, understanding of processes and workflows both alone and within a team.
High personal integrity and self-motivation with a can-do, will-do attitude.
Microsoft .NET development knowledge is essential.
Architectural and solution design skills are nice to have.
