The Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) Role
For this role you must in the first instance be a fully qualified teacher or SENCO that holds QTS and the National SENCO award (or willingness to undertake the training). Ideally, you will also have experience as a SENCO in a UK based school, this can be in primary or secondary. You will be required to manage a large team of LSAs as well as an SEN teacher, therefore you must have strong management skills to do this successfully. You will not be required to teach however may sometimes be required to cover classes as and when required. You must be able to demonstrate good or outstanding teaching practice as well as have the ability to deliver outstanding interventions and outside activities. This role is based in the Senior Leadership Team and so the school are only shortlisting outstanding candidates.
