An SEND Science Teaching position, within a reputable Liverpool SEN school, paying from £90.00-£120.00 per day has become available on a long term basis. The children in this Secondary school have a range of needs from ASD, ADHD to challenging behaviours.
Your new role
You will be working within an accomplished, SEND school that offers the national curriculum to their students. Rated as Ofsted Outstanding, the school boasts an attentive and caring atmosphere, where a high quality of care and education is consistently provided. They are looking for a long term Science Teacher to teach at KS3 and KS4 level, with SEND experience. You will be supporting children from age 11 - 16 years of age, on a full-time basis, providing the full National Curriculum alongside an enhanced, extended curriculum, guaranteeing individual needs are met. As an SEN Teacher, you will deliver diverse, fun and engaging lessons to pupils, which will encourage their personal development and academic achievement. You must have a passion for working with children with SEND, particularly ASD.
What you'll need to succeed
You must have a recognised Teaching Qualification and relevant experience within an SEND school environment. You will need to demonstrate the ability to deliver lesson plans to a high standard and a strong ability to cater for a varied range of educational needs; always maintaining a positive and constructive attitude. Additional experience with Autism as training in Makaton, TEACCH, Intensive Interaction, Team Teach and Crisis would also be of benefit. You must have some recent and relevant experience working with a range of SEND children.
