You will be a key member of the administrative team supporting approval of research applications in the largest research department in Scotland. The Clinical Research & Development department has over 70 staff ranging from experienced administrative staff, Research Nurses, Clinical Trials Pharmacists to Phd qualified Scientists. The Systems team (a sub division of the R&D office) is centralised in the West Ambulatory Care Hospital (former Yorkhill site). Our work is managed in topic specific research portfolios (e.g. Oncology, Mental Health). You will work closely with a Co-ordinator level staff member and manage projects on a daily basis by tracking project document submissions, working rigorously to achieve national timelines for approval and overseeing project-related information updates to a national database (SReDA). To succeed in this role excellent organisational, communication and keyboard skills are essential and previous experience of working in a research environment would be highly advantageous. You will also spend 7.5 hours providing admin and technical support to the Research Ethics Department which will include controlling the flow of information through the research ethics office, monitoring progress of applications and taking corrective action when timelines are not met.
