An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, self motivated Sonographer to join our Obstetric Ultrasound Team in Forth Valley.

NHS Forth Valley became fully operational in July 2011. The Women and Children’s Directorate comprises Maternity, Gynaecology and Paediatric services for the local population of Forth Valley. The Maternity Unit provides care for approximately 3000+ deliveries per year and offers a high quality integrated Maternity Service this includes Intensive Care/Special care facilities for neonates, Ante/Postnatal Inpatient service, Outpatient Service, Delivery Suite and Team Midwifery Service. The Gynaecology Department provides Inpatient and Outpatient, medical, surgical and palliative care for women with gynaecological conditions from the local population. The Paediatric Department provides high quality care for children requiring inpatient, ambulatory and outpatient medical/surgical care, and a team of Community Children’s Nurses (including diabetic and complex care) provide paediatric nursing care for the children in the community setting.

It is expected that the successful candidate will be NMC/HCPC registered as a registered midwife/nurse (RM/RN) or Radiographer, be educated to DMU/Pgcert/PgDip level in Obstetric Ultrasound and have excellent technical and interpersonal skills. They will be expected to work independently, performing and reporting a range of obstetric ultrasound examinations including EPAS, Booking, Anomaly and Growth scans. They will proactively support the continuous quality assurance and audit programme.
