The Job

They need a Junior/Trainee IT Support Technician with hands-on understanding of:

  • IT hardware
  • Managing Windows
  • Networking
  • Raspberry Pi or another Linux system

You will learn and work on the day-to-day support of both their own and their customers' systems, giving you the opportunity to rapidly develop your skills and experience.

Your duties will include:

  • Installing and configuring computer systems
  • Building hardware
  • Diagnosing hardware/software faults
  • Dealing with and rectifying faults
  • Solving technical problems
  • Supporting users
  • Logging and keeping records of system maintenance and faults
  • Tracking the maintenance of faults through to resolution.

The Person

To succeed in this role, you will have BTEC Level 3 Diploma in an IT subject and GCSEs in Maths and English (at grade C or higher).

You are passionate about systems and projects, and all things IT, with an understanding of Windows and Linux/Pi, as well as an understanding of networking, and an interest in IT security. You love making stuff work and making things better.

You are reliable and punctual, with a strong work ethic and a positive attitude. You are able immediately to be responsible and deal well with pressure.

You can demonstrate the following attributes:

  • An ability to work across several projects or opportunities at the same time
  • An ability to adapt to change, being comfortable with a fast-changing technology environment
  • A commitment to producing high quality work.
