FILE REVIEW - Pensions, Protection & Investments

Location: Altrincham

Salary: £38,000, plus bonus (OTE £60,000)

NJR Financial Services are working exclusively with a newly established business that are backed by one of the most successful and largest Claims Management companies in the UK. Specialising in miss-sold Financial Planning Products and advising clients seeking redress on unsuitable retail investment products, our Client now have a new opportunity for a File Reviewer to join their expanding team.

We are looking for exceptional candidates who have client-facing experience in the retail financial advice industry, together with a broad and thorough understanding of regulations, advice suitability requirements and retail investment products. Responsibilities:

  • Client liaison: following up on leads, handling inbound and outbound phone calls with prospective clients who have given us their contact details. The organisation does not undertake cold calling in any form
  • Appraising cases against the rules and regulations concerning retail financial advice
  • Checking suitability of past advice
  • Calculating redress (training given)
  • Deploying excellent personal organisation skills and a rapid turnaround to enable the organisation to provide a great service to the client
  • Liaising with clients predominantly by email and telephone and keeping existing clients fully informed about their case
  • Utilising Case Management software to progress cases
  • Proactively organising schedules, including diary management and meeting coordination
  • Progressing the firm's privacy by design approach to data protection


  • Previous experience in retail financial advice market (bancassurance or IFA).
  • Level 3 financial advice qualification e.g. CeFA/FPC (minimum).
  • Broad knowledge of the UK retail financial services regulatory environment
  • Detailed knowledge of retail pension and investment products including personal pensions, stakeholder pensions, SIPPs, Section 32 transfer/buyout plans, PEPs, ISAs, Unit Trusts/OEICs/GIAs, Whole of Life policies, Investment Experience of working with a variety of IT packages (Case Management Systems, MS Word, Excel, Outlook).
